Thrive Coaching Acceptable Use Policy

Last Updated: February 20, 2026

This Coaching Acceptable Use Policy (“Coaching AUP”) governs access to and participation in Thrive Global’s coaching program including anyone-on-one or group coaching sessions, and coaching-related activities (the “Coaching Program”). This Coaching AUP supplements Thrive’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service and applies to all individuals who access or participate in Coaching Program through an employer-sponsored or otherwise authorized program.

1. Purpose of the Coaching Program.

Thrive’s Coaching Program is designed to support personal and professional growth, wellbeing, and performance. The program supports participants in building sustainable healthy habits and wellbeing practices that align with their goals and, where applicable, care plans recommended by a healthcare provider.

The Coaching Program focuses on wellbeing strategies, habit development, and goal support. The Coaching Program does not provide medical care, mental health treatment, therapy, or counseling, and coaches do not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment, provide clinical guidance, or monitor medical status. Participation in the Coaching Program does not create a provider–patientor therapist–client relationship between participants and Thrive or its coaches. Information shared through the Coaching Program is intended to support personal and professional development, including healthy behaviors such as food, movement, sleep, stress management, and connection. The Coaching Program may align with participants’ health goals or treatment plans, but it is not a substitute for medical or mental health care from a licensed healthcare provider.

2. Eligibility.

2.1 Age Requirements.

Access to the Coaching Program is subject to the following eligibility requirements:

  • Individuals must be at least 18 years of age to access the Coaching Program independently; or
  • Individuals aged 13 to 17 may access the Coaching Program only where such access is explicitly offered to dependents or family members by the sponsoring employer or organization, and only with appropriate parent or legal guardian consent, as required by applicable law.

Children under the age of 13 are not eligible to participate in the Coaching Program.

2.2 Guardian Consent and Involvement.

For participants under the age of 18:

  • Access for minors is permitted only where participation has been authorized by a  parent or legal guardian, which may occur through employer-sponsored enrollment, guardian-initiated signup, or other authorized access mechanisms. Thrive may require a parent or legal guardian to be available, to acknowledge disclosures, or to participate in certain communications or sessions, depending on the participant’s age, applicable law, or the nature of the coaching engagement.
  • Thrive reserves the right to pause, modify, or discontinue Coaching Program for a minor if     appropriate consent cannot be confirmed or if guardian involvement is required but not available.

3. Appropriate Use of the Coaching Program.

Participants may use the Coaching Program only for lawful, appropriate, and intended purposes. Participants must not:

  • Misrepresent their age, identity, or eligibility to participate in the Coaching Program;
  • Use the Coaching Program in a manner that is unsafe, abusive, threatening, or harmful to     themselves, coaches, or others;
  • Attempt to use Coaching Program as a substitute for medical care, mental health treatment, therapy, or emergency services.

4. Coach Discretion and Safeguards.

Coaches are trained to provide non-clinical coaching support and operate within defined professional and ethical boundaries. Thrive and its coaches reserve the right to:

  • Redirect conversations that fall outside the scope of coaching;
  • Pause or terminate a coaching session if participation is not appropriate, including where age, consent, safety, or wellbeing concerns arise;
  • Escalate concerns internally in accordance with Thrive’s safety and escalation protocols.

If discussions involve medical symptoms, diagnosis, treatment decisions, medication management, or other clinical matters, coaches will direct participants to consult a licensed healthcare provider and will not provide individualized medical guidance.

5. No Emergency or Crisis Services.

The Coaching Program is not designed for crisis situations or emergencies. Participants should not use the Coaching Program to seek assistance for immediate danger, self-harm, harm to others, or other urgent situations. In such cases, participants should contact local emergency services or appropriate crisis resources.

6. Participant Responsibility.

Participation in the Coaching Program is voluntary. Participants are solely responsible for their decisions, actions, and outcomes arising from their participation. Thrive does not guarantee specific results and is not responsible for personal, professional, medical, or other decisions made by participants based on information discussed during coaching sessions.

7. Employer-Sponsored Programs.

Where the Coaching Program is provided through an employer-sponsored or authorized program, eligibility (including dependent access) may be further limited by the terms of the applicable customer agreement or program description. Thrive reserves the right to administer the Coaching Program in accordance with those program-specific terms. Changes in employment or benefit eligibility status may affect access to the Coaching Program. Participants should consult their employer or benefits administrator for information regarding continued eligibility.

8. Enforcement and Changes.

Thrive may suspend or terminate access to the Coaching Program for violations of this Coaching AUP or where continued participation is not appropriate. Thrive may update this Coaching AUP from time to time, and continued participation in the Coaching Program constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
