In the past few years, I found that my health was in a downward spiral. After having three surgeries and needing to recover, I really learned the power of taking small steps –– which is why Microsteps have had a big impact in my life.

After my ACL and cartilage repair surgery, my quads went dead. And the instruction I got from the doctor was to look at my leg and imagine a pulsing feeling in the muscle, urging it to contract. It was difficult at first, but after eight days of trying, I finally felt a slight contraction on my quads. Eventually, I was able to get outside again and experience the sunlight, and after days, weeks and months, I was back to normal.

My recovery happened because of a series of tiny steps that finally allowed me to feel like myself again. I was able to slowly lose weight and improve my energy and my overall well-being. I am so grateful for Microsteps. Today, Thrive is a daily stop for me. I check the Thrive platform for a quick Reset during the day, or to check in on one of my Microsteps. Microsteps have become habits for me and I’m so thankful for that. I am eager to explore other journeys in Thrive and see how it impacts my life.

When I’m feeling stressed, Thrive Resets really help me find a moment of calm. My favorite is this rainfall Reset. It reminds me of the beautiful place I was born and how connected I am to the elements. It helps remind me to stay present with my 5-year-old and all of my family, and spend time with them as much as I can. There is nothing more powerful than feeling blessed to experience each wonderful day, and taking a moment for a Reset reminds me that each day is a beautiful gift.

Thrive has also taught me the importance of patience. Being patient along your health journey is a powerful lesson. It's easy to not listen to the body and succumb to injuries. And post recovery, often the cycle of relapse kicks in –– but I learned that small actions make a difference in the long run. I learned to trust the process and let the magic happen on its own. When you establish healthy habits and stay consistent, you can manage your time better, feel better, and improve the way you work and live. I’m inspired by others who have made changes in their own lives –– the people who were down and were able to stand back up and return to life with persistence and willpower. And most importantly, I take inspiration from the fact that I can be a better version of me today, and take life as it comes tomorrow.
