Feeling Unsupported? Look here at first.

Exploring the Inner Workings of Support

The Thrive Global Community welcomes voices from many spheres on our open platform. I’ve been reflecting on Support of late. When threads come up with clients and students, there is always a universal piece to share.

Here’s what I’m seeing:

If you feel unsupported, the first place to look is at yourself. Most of the time, what we are seeking from the outside, is in truth, what we are trying to learn from within.

When it comes to being supported, here are some questions I would explore:

How do you support yourself? Do you honor your body by giving it good food, exercise and all that it needs?

How do you support your Mind?

How do you support yourself emotionally?

Do an internal assessment. Make a list of where you don’t support yourself and begin to do things that provide support for who you are and what you are creating in the world.

Chances are, as you begin to support yourself, you’ll find support showing up externally too.

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
