Hey folks,
It’s time.
I’ve felt something was missing from my business for quite some time now. Call it authenticity. Call it substance. Call it “I Just Want Something To Work So I Can Get Out Of My Damn Day Job” Syndrome.
Whatever you want to call it, nothing has provided tremendous value to people. And certainly not on a level where I’m giving more than I’m taking (or trying to take).
Well, that ends today.
As I’ve learned what it truly takes to be successful in life, I’ve been met with a ton of internal resistance. Basically, I’ve bought the flashy Instagram posts and “Get Rich Quick” ideals hook, line and sinker. What do you mean I can’t make six figures a month with a snap of my fingers?
I’ve let my pursuit of “financial freedom” turn into an idol I worship. And it’s been to my detriment and to the detriment of those I claim to serve.
In reality, I was only trying to serve myself. Do what is right for Dave.
Again, that ends today. And I’m sorry for that.
You deserve better. My family deserves better. And, yes, I deserve better. Because that’s not who I want to be about.

There are every day heroes in our lives and those we see on the local news. It’s the teacher at your child’s school or the firefighter pulling an entire family out of a burning building. It’s a single mother raising 3 kids and still finding the time to take them to church every Sunday.
Those are the people we need to celebrate. I want to bring you their stories and I want you to let me know who your heroes are. Let’s each other and even the world by our heroism.
There’s enough crap out there. Let’s not add to it.

Now’s let take a look at our first hero.
His name is Rodney Smith, Jr. He’s from Alabama.
And he’s mowing lawns for free across the country — and soon to be across the world.
Think about that. Mowing lawns for free. Some of us (yours truly) won’t even mow his own lawn for free.
This is one of the more basic selfless acts I can think of. But, I’ll let Rodney tell you more about it himself.
Here’s what he told FOX 13’s Mariah Harrison:
“Back in 2015 I came across an elderly man outside mowing his lawn, and it looked like he was struggling so I pulled over and helped him out. That night I decided to start mowing free lawns for the elderly, disabled, single moms, and veterans in my community in Huntsville, Alabama.”
He started with a goal for 50 lawns — then quickly turned that into 100 lawns.
And now — he’s giving young people a chance to give back to their local communities. Through his Raising Men Lawn Care Service, Rodney challenges kids the world over to mow 50 lawns for free. Almost 300 boys and girls have registered to take part.
But, that’s not all. Rodney plans to make this a worldwide movement.
“This summer I plan on doing something called ‘7 Continents, 7 Lawns’ where I’m going to travel to all seven continents mow free lawns for elderly, disabled, single moms, and veterans and encourage kids to join our 50-yard challenge.”
Can you imagine doing something like that for your neighbor? Is that inspiring or what?
