It turns out there were a lot of people interested in what he was sharing, which quickly accelerated his growth. Today, he boasts of having the largest Instagram page out of anyone in Pakistan that has a massive Western audience.
Jokeshub is the main Instagram theme page Meharyar runs, although he has a network of IG pages with a combined total of 1.7 million followers. It’s impressive to see such growth on a page with a Western audience run by someone who is located so far away from his major target audience.
Meharyar’s Tips for Growing on Instagram
As we head into 2021, what worked when Meharyar first started out on Instagram doesn’t necessarily work today. That is due to the algorithm updates on Instagram, as well as there being much more competition.
Still, there are several ways Meharyar says you can still grow from zero to a million followers and beyond. The key is to post at least once a day. The algorithm rewards pages that have the most activity. This includes posts, likes, comments, saves, and follows. The more often you post, the more chances you have at getting engagement.
Combined with this, Meharyar suggests using hashtags that are large enough, but not too big. Otherwise, your posts will get lost in mere moments. For new pages, he suggests sticking to hashtags that have between 10K and 100K posts under them.
A tried-and-true growth hack Meharyar suggests is shoutout-for-shoutout. This is an old method that has been around for a long time that involves you and another page tagging each other in your posts. This exposes both of your audiences to the other one, which can lead to gaining new followers.
Meharyar sees these growth methods still working today, and ones to consider using to grow an audience, especially for a theme page like his. He believes that if he started today, he could still become as successful as he is today with his theme pages, even if it would take some time.
