Why Life Isn’t Fair And The World Doesn’t Owe You ANYTHING!

life advice

It may seem a bit harsh but this following information is sometimes just the reality check that some people need to hear…

Mark Twain once said: “Don’t go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first.”

One of the scariest things about our current society is that the youth of today are growing up to be an entitled generation.

When I was young, I expected nothing.

If I wanted money or clothes or anything special, I knew I had to work for it. I was happy if someone was kind enough to throw me some craps.

I appreciated every second-hand gift and didn’t ever snarl at or question anything that was handed to me, advice included.

Nowadays people seem to think everything should be handed to them on a silver platter.

They think life owes them something – like a career, an adoring relationship, physical beauty, perfect health and comfort.

They whinge and moan and complain when they don’t get an award, a gift, a position or anything they want but don’t have.

It’s time to stop being a baby, develop a backbone and start behaving like a grownup.

Be a responsible person.

If you want something – whether it’s happiness, wealth, power, success or love – you need to WORK for it yourself. You are NOT entitled to anything until you have saved and paid for it yourself.

Life doesn’t owe you anything: not perfect parents or a perfect childhood, not even immunity from pain or problems, a house, a bed, a job or even a single meal.

If you haven’t sweated or struggled for something, why do you think you deserve it?

Really, why?

What makes you more special than previous generations who had to work hard for everything?

Entitlement is an epidemic in this day and age and it is up to parents to model and teach our children the attitude of gratitude instead.

Note these 9 facts:

1 – You can’t always get what you want.

2 – You certainly don’t deserve anything you didn’t work for.

3 – You need to stop thinking like a victim.

4 – Take some personal responsibility instead of blaming life and other people for all the things you haven’t achieved.

5 – We don’t need to hear your stupid excuses. YOU don’t need to hear your stupid excuses, even if you think they are valid and true.

6 – All those “poor me” excuses hurt you more than they hurt anyone else because they equal DENIAL.

7 – Once you realize the truth – that the world doesn’t owe you anything – you can start to create your own happiness.

8 – It is a GIFT to yourself when you acknowledge, accept and realize everything you DO have in your life needs to be earned.

9 – It is also a sign of maturity so step up today and be prepared to stake your claim.

In a nutshell…

It isn’t just children that grow up to feel entitled.

There are just as many of adults walking around with an over-inflated, obnoxious ego, acting like the world owes them something.

I don’t know what it will take to knock them off that pedestal and maybe there’s a chance that they will stand up there forever, looking over their noses down at everyone else for the rest of their life and there’s not one thing we can do about it.

But that’s okay.

It isn’t your life to live and they aren’t your mistakes to worry about.

You have your own to make.

As long as YOU recognize that there is nothing to be gained from feeling ENTITLED then you are on the right path.

Absolutely nothing at all…
