Kratom comes from a tropical tree in the coffee family and is one of the most popular herbs on the European market for physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being. The plant is totally natural and the increase in its popularity is due to the large number of people who have found it a natural remedy for their problems without a medical solution.

Scientifically named Mitragyna speciosa, kratom is native to parts of Africa and Southeast Asia. Kratom has been valued in traditional medicine since the 19th century, and today it is used to relieve pain, combat anxiety, chronic pain, lack of concentration, hormonal imbalance, and many other symptoms.

Benefits of Kratom

Kratom has a positive impact on the lives of many people who struggle with anxiety, bad moods, chronic pain, lack of concentration, and addiction to certain drugs. The medicinal effects of kratom are diverse due to its unique alkaloid profile. Some possible positive effects include for why you need to buy Kratom:

Increase energy

The compounds Kratom for sale found in the leaf have been shown to increase productivity levels due to increased concentration and stimulation, without the increased heart rates often felt from excessive caffeine consumption or caffeine overdose. This is due to the metabolic processes it affects: the extract can increase oxygen in the bloodstream and calm the nerves for a more stable boost.

Relieves pain

Many people use kratom for pain, and it can be especially helpful for those who suffer from chronic and persistent symptoms, such as back pain, headaches, or joint problems. This is because the leaf alkaloids bind to opioid receptors in the brain, which can help ease the pain felt in the body and make opioid withdrawal less severe.

Improves mood and anxiety

The properties of the kratom plant lend themselves to being used as an anxiolytic (an anti-panic or anti-anxiety agent). For the same reason that it helps increase energy through metabolic activities, it can help people suffering from severe mood swings, depression, and anxiety. The leaf extracts help control the release of hormones throughout the body, thereby regulating mood swings in a more controlled way, if not completely eliminating them.

Anti-inflammatory agent

In total, kratom has more than 30 known alkaloid properties. Two of the alkaloids that have anti-inflammatory benefits are Rinchofilina and Epicatequina. Thanks to research, we know that Rinchophylline and Epicatechin have anti-inflammatory agents. Some patients suffering from inflammatory conditions like arthritis and cancer have found relief by taking kratom. Another alkaloid found in kratom is mitraginine and we know that it can reduce inflammation, also helping with swelling, pain, and redness caused by inflammation.

Helps to treat addiction to pharmaceutical opiates

Increasingly popular as Kratom is used by people trying to quit medications as many of them create addiction. The leaf compounds help lessen the side effects of withdrawal. Chewing on the leaves, performed by many recovering consumers in Asia, has a constant psychological effect as well as a safe and immediate “boost” related to their addiction. Furthermore, kratom does not cause hypoventilation, which is respiratory depression and a leading cause of death from opiates, as is typical of other opiates.

Other benefits of Kratom are:

  • Pain relief
  • Mood lifting
  • Energy promotion
  • Anxiolytic (anti-anxiety)
  • Depression relief
  • Boosting the immune system
  • Nootropic (improved cognition)
  • Antileukemic
  • Anti-malaria
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Lowers blood sugar
  • Relief of opioid withdrawal

Kratom warnings and possible side effects

Kratom is a legal product both in the European Economic Community, there are some side effects that you should consider before consuming it, but it all depends a lot on the dose. Although it only entered the European market very recently, taking the extract has been going on for centuries, and many have been able to experience the positive effects it has on the body.

Many of the positive effects that have been shown to occur when using kratom can ultimately be reversed to opposite and negative effects on the body if a higher dose is used than it should be. “Kratom hangovers” have also been documented when consuming higher doses (3 tablespoons), in which symptoms of a more traditional alcoholic hangover appear.

There are several side effects associated with the use of kratom. Like the intended effects listed above, its side effects depend on the dose taken and are similar to those found among others:

  • Pupillary constriction (small pupils).
  • Facial flushing (blush).
  • Tremors or loss of motor coordination.
  • Constipation.
  • Sweating
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea and vomiting

Serious toxic effects appear to be rare among user reports. The most severe toxic reactions have been associated with high doses of kratom (> 15 g) and have been characterized by seizures.

Kratom consumption is completely harmless and healthy with the proper dosage. Problems appear when consumed in large quantities or combined with other dangerous chemicals such as krypton, which is a herbal product marketed in many parts of the world. Krypton is actually a combination of kratom and O-desmethyl-tramadol, a chemical that is also found as a metabolite of the pain reliever tramadol (Ultram). This combination increases the depressive effects on the central nervous system.
