Stepping outside your comfort zone can be hard and it is where a lot of people get stuck.  After pushing through my own fears and doubts, I learned a valuable lesson. Fear and doubt, when acknowledged, are your greatest teachers.

What is a comfort zone? Everyday we go about our daily life and our daily routine’s become who we are. Whether you are working a 9-5 job, are a stay at home parent or you’re still a student. Regardless of who you are or what you do, you have a daily routine that you have become a part of.

Changing your routine and breaking patterns is the hardest part when attempting to make changes in your life. The reason? The fear and the doubt lingering in your subconscious mind. Before you take any form of action, you must convince yourself that you actually can.

The subconscious mind is where all past experiences and outcomes are stored. The conscious mind is what we use to make day to day decisions.

Although our conscious mind is the daily driving force, the subconscious mind is the backseat driver with the directions , that will lead you into old or new places depending on the route you’re willing to take. It is very important to pay attention to the fear and the doubt inside of you. All fear and doubt really mean is that somewhere in your subconscious, you have not healed. A past experience is haunting you, whether you think about it consciously or not.

In order to use fear and doubt to your advantage:

Get in touch with your fears and your doubts, allow yourself to acknowledge them.

Fear and doubt are simply masked pain, but the pain is part of your process. We try to mask the pain with temporary highs, substance abuse or temporary relationships. Just about anything that gives us instant gratification to avoid looking within and facing our truth. In order to move forward you have to know what the fear or the doubt is.

Write down your fears and doubts, this is how you can begin to find the old patterns and break them.

Any area of your life that is not working out, is where the fear or the doubt is overpowering the belief.

1% doubt has more power than 99% belief.

Maybe you don’t believe in yourself because you had a rough childhood.

Maybe an ex boyfriend or girlfriend broke your heart and you still feel insecure or not good enough for real love.

Maybe you grew up in a poor or a middle class family and you don’t think you can go past where you’ve been.

Maybe you don’t think your dream body is possible because you have never seen any results before, or as quick as you wanted.

The point is, your subconscious is storing old beliefs that are holding you back from anything you truly desire.

Knowing what holds you back can actually help move you forward.

Thank your fears and doubts and then release them.

Give fear and doubt gratitude for trying to keep you safe and protected, they honestly don’t know any better.

Then tell your fears and your doubts that you are ready.

Start to use your conscious mind to reprogram your subconscious mind.

Affirmations are important and the more you focus on building new beliefs, the more your subconscious will feel at ease.

The fear and the doubt will start to slowly chip away.

Know that everything you want is possible, it just starts with and within you.
