It’s so important to get a good night’s sleep for our health as well as our wellbeing. The reason you’re not getting good quality sleep could be due to having an awful mattress. Mattresses are expensive and it can be a huge investment to replace but it is so important. If you find that you’re waking up several times in the night and struggle to get to sleep then you know it’s time to buy a new one. If you also experience pains in your back then this could be a clear indicator that it’s time to throw your old mattress out. Not getting a new mattress could result in making any back pains permanent and it could effect the quality of your sleep further. The size of the mattress also matters, having lots of room in bed will surely make you sleep better as you’re free to stretch out and get comfortable. If you can afford to and have the space, invest in a bigger mattress.

4. Fit blackout curtains or blinds

Are you one of those people who can’t sleep when the light is on or when there’s a tiny bit of light shining through the curtains? If this is you, then you should invest in some blackout blinds or curtains. Nothing really is worse than being woken up by the light shining through the curtains when you’re trying to have a lie in after a long and busy week at work. By fitting blackout curtains, you’ll quickly erase this problem and lie ins will be fabulous. You can lie in for as long as you want with the knowledge that you’ll wake up when you want to and not when the sun through the curtains says you should. 5. Keep your bedroom clean and clutter free

A tidy room equals and happy and tidy mind. Who can get to sleep knowing they have lots of washing up to do in the morning or loads of clothes piled up on the bedroom floor? Having an untidy or dirty bedroom could prevent you from getting a good night’s sleep. If your room is a mess, that will be on your mind and you will find it hard to sleep. If your bedroom isn’t clean and is full of dust, this can also effect your sleep. This is because bacteria and allergies spread. If you’re finding that you’re awake coughing and sneezing all night then it may be time to do a little spring cleaning. Make sure to regularly hoover your carpets and wipe down your surfaces to prevent the spread of allergens. It’s also a good idea to wash your bedding weekly. Getting into a fresh and clean bed always results in the best night’s sleep.
