HOW TO CHOOSE HAPPINESS EVEN IF THE SITUATIONS DO NOT ALLOW

HAPPINESS IS A CHOICE

Is it possible to be happy even if the situations do not allow? Yes, they say happiness is a choice, your choice. No matter how dull life may seem to be, you can choose to be happy. Maybe you are wondering how to be happy when life does not seem to reward you with all the things you think can make you happy. Let’s get this clear. It is not what you have that makes you happy. It is not who you are with that makes you happy. It is not what you do that makes you happy. It is not where you are that makes you happy. What makes you happy is the way you think about it. This is where you choose to be happy no matter the circumstances in your life.

Happiness is within; sometimes we are just too blind to see it. Read on to learn how to be happy even if the situations do not allow.

1. Live The Present Moment

If you are always thinking about the worries of tomorrow, chances are that you are not a happy person today. Reasons being you are focusing your mind to think and worry of tomorrow’s shortcomings rather than enjoying the present moment. Remember that tomorrow is not promised to anyone. If you are looking forward to tomorrow to be happy, you are missing the happiness you should be experiencing today. Forget about your past. It may have haunting memories that hinder you to be happy. Don’t think too much about your future. It may get you worried and even you do not know how exactly it will look like. It is today that you have to be happy. Choosing to be happy every single new day is choosing happiness for the rest of your life.

2. Face Your Fears or Give Up on Them

We all have fears. Unfortunately, where there is fear, happiness does not exist. Fear will only prevent you from being happy. The solution to it is giving it up or facing it. Fear will prevent you from doing the things that can make you successful, things that will make you happy in the end. Living with fear is just like living in a prison. You will never be happy if you live with fear, Step out of fear and do the things that scare you. Then start appreciating your small achievements. The end result is a happy you.

3. Don’t Wait to Achieve Your Goals for You to be Happy

We all have a list of things we would like to achieve. Call them goals. Many people lose it by having the mentality that until they achieve those goals, they aren’t supposed to be happy. Someone is not happy today because he or she are living in a rented apartment and want to be living in his/her own house. Hunnie, don’t let your dreams hold your happiness. Ask yourself this, what are the little things that make you smile? Find answers and do them often. No matter what life is serving you, you will find yourself being happy in all situations.

4. Quit Comparing Yourself To Others

Comparison is the thief to happiness. There is always someone else doing all better than you. There will always be someone more successful, smarter and better looking. Living a happy life will start the minute you will accept this and stop comparing your life to others. How many times have you compared your looks with others, your weight, your job, your body? Did you ever feel happy? Comparing yourself to others will always make you feel that you are never enough. This will diminish your happiness. Knowing that you are unique in your own way and there will never be another person like you in the world is something to make you happy and stop the comparison habit. Focus on your strengths to become a better you.

5. Say No More Negative Self Talk

It is in that moment of life when we are feeling low that we have all these negative self-talk. You probably have these constant conversations in your head telling yourself maybe you will never make it. You will never be successful. You are not lucky enough. These negative self-talk will only make you feel bad, have a low self-esteem and lack confidence. All these will not make you happy. Instead of the self negative-talk, feed your mind with positivity. Tell yourself that you will be successful. Even though things may not work out today tell yourself tomorrow they might. Replace I can’t do with I will give it a shot. No matter the situation, tell yourself that you will get through it and succeed in the end. Avoid negative people in life because if you spend time with them, you will become unhappy.

Happiness is a choice and it is not too late to choose happiness today. No matter what you are going through, always find a reason to smile, a reason to be happy. Be happy!
