Ocean Athlete Austin Keen Lays Fresh Pow Pow Tracks
What do 4 feet of fresh powder and an ocean shore break have in common? That would be professional skimboarder Austin Keen of course. This viral athlete sure knows how to transfer to more than one board. Just last week the seasoned wave rider lifted his way up to the top of Breckenridge slopes to find himself in near waist deep conditions.
“I only snowboard a few times a year, so I was stoked to finally lay some fresh tracks for the first time.” Austin says.
Even though this guy is used to shredding wakes and scoring barrels, a little change of scenery didn’t seem to slow him down one bit. It didn’t take him long to carve through tree trails, catch some air or face plant into some of Colorado’s snow fall.
Let’s talk about his gear for a second, Austin doesn’t seem to go anywhere without ultra stabilizing camera, the GoPro Hero7 Black which gives us drool worthy clips like this:
“Hiking in this powder is definitely a workout!”
He is also sporting those new frameless snow goggles from Blenders Eyewear, Keen’s newest collab partner in the action sports apparel space. “They hooked me up with some sweet new goggles…they’re lightweight and clip right into my helmet.” He said. Which is vital if you’re gonna blast down the mountain like this adventure seeker. And sure, shredding some fresh powder is a priority but looking good while doing comes in as a close second.
