How Jordan Platten Finds Motivation During Rough Times

Social Media Marketing Expert

I know this is not an easy job. What drives you?

The thought that all over the world, there are thousands of young men and women who are crying out for someone to guide them in the right direction, just like I used to. When I was in my late teens, I had this uncontrollable desire to be successful, I just couldn’t for the life of me figure out what I wanted to do for my life. It drives me knowing that there are so many others in that position and I want to be the mentor that I never had when I was in that position.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? What lesson did you learn from them?

I am grateful for one of my closest friends, Jonny, who I met at whilst working together in a retail store selling smartphones. As we jumped from job to job, Jonny was one of the only people who understood the thoughts of my mind, because he had that burning desire for success too. He actually quit his job to start an online business six months before me, and it was his fast growth that pushed me to take the plunge myself, so I owe that to him. He taught me that you need to take risks to get to where you want to go.

How do you push through your worst times?

I align myself with my WHY, and not just my ‘why’ on the surface, which is to help aspiring entrepreneurs all over the world, but my deeper “why”. I remind myself of the impact my success has on my family, I remind myself of the success I want for my future family too, and my children.

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
