Friends with a DJ

Music is life

The Thrive Global Community welcomes voices from many spheres on our open platform. We publish pieces as written by outside contributors with a wide range of opinions, which don’t necessarily reflect our own. Community stories are not commissioned by our editorial team and must meet our guidelines prior to being published.

Yesterday

I made friends with a DJ

You know how they say

‘DJ won’t you play that girl a love song’ (Jamie Foxx)

But what if the DJ himself

Is the love song

What if the DJ himself

Deserves to be played a love song

A barrier

To the outside world

He lives in his inner world

Around others yet alone in the world

‘Music is my life’

He said

So surely that means

You enjoy every single beat?

Though you entertain the crowd

Are you really happy when they are happy?

You know they are living their life

The way you should be living yours

See her?

Giggling

See him?

Grinning cheekily

You created that

Now create if for yourself

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
