An actress, singer, designer, entrepreneur and mother, Haylie Duff has been keeping busy as an entertainment professional since the late 1990s. She created a food blog called The Real Girl’s Kitchen in the early 2010s, which led to a cookbook and Cooking Channel TV series of the same name. This in turn led to Duff starring in a separate Cooking Channel series called Haylie’s America in which she explored everything from trendy hot spots to mom & pop shops.

September is National Family Meals Month — a month dedicated to promoting the benefits of spending more family time around the table while enjoying nutritious meals — and as part of such, Haylie Duff is working with the American Heart Association and the EB Better Family Meals Program. Duff is helping to educate others about how everyday people can easily eat and cook more healthily with a few minor tweaks.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Haylie Duff — who has also found acclaim for her Little Moon Society fashion line — herself via satellite on September 19, 2019, and video of that interview is embedded below as an exclusive to Thrive Global. We talked about her work with the AHA, staying positive, how easy it is to cook healthy yet delicious food, how she manages to stay both positive and productive, and what is coming up for her.

More on Duff can be found by following on her on both Instagram and Twitter via @HaylieDuff.
