The Thrive Global Community welcomes voices from many spheres on our open platform. We publish pieces as written by outside contributors with a wide range of opinions, which don’t necessarily reflect our own. One February day, Claudia Mason – a stroke thriver of seven years – was on the phone with our very own Liam Alexander brainstorming on what we could do for Stroke Awareness Month. Almost immediately after they hung up, Claudia’s phone rang.  It was Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor who said “I’m coming to NY! Is there anyone I can sit down with?”

Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor has the #7 most-watched TEDTalk of all time, and was very explicit; ” If you want to hear about the morning of my stroke, go watch my TEDtalk. “Let’s talk about something new,” she said.

So we did.  The four of us sat down for an intimate and exclusive roundtable. We spoke about stroke, the brain, health, and what it takes to overcome a brain injury and thrive. Then we explored what it is to be human, who we are, and what makes us do the things we do.

We even had some fun too:

Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor schools Kyle on how to get the girl, in our exclusive #StrokeofGenius roundtable discussion with Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor, Claudia Mason, Kyle Mengelkamp, and Liam Alexander.

Get ready to dance around the brain and dive into what makes us who we are, how we experience the world, and what we can do to thrive.
