The Thrive Global Community welcomes voices from many spheres on our open platform. We publish pieces as written by outside contributors with a wide range of opinions, which don’t necessarily reflect our own. Community stories are not commissioned by our editorial team and must meet our guidelines prior to being published.

PROVIDE WHOLISTIC (the Whole or attention) Your Attention to others.

Listen for the message that is being shared. Focus not on just the words but the message and then clarify or reframe what they said. If you are not sure ask them to repeat or clarify for you. Your Definitions or Understanding may not be the same as there. Never Assume you know.

In providing services of Interventions, Counseling and Therapy it is in the Therapeutic Relationship that is developed, that creates the relationship for Healing, Growth and Recovery (Change) to occur. The most productive and successful services that are provided, are Integrated, Comprehensive, Client Centered and Strength based, for the people, families and communities. This occurs by Promoting, Providing and Supporting, the Health, Welfare and Safety of an INDIVIDUAL, FAMILY and COMMUNITY for Healing, Growth and Recovery.

It is also important to Respect Cultural and Community Differences and Similarities in People, Families and Communities. When this is not done, we put up roadblocks for the Health, Welfare and Safety of People, Families and the Community. In turn it reduces the Healing, Growth and Recovery of all.

We are called to PROMOTE the MISSION of HUMANITY:

This can be done by:

a: Promoting the self-sufficiency, independence and self-efficacy of all people, families and communities.

b: Advocacy, education, technical assistance, economic enhancement and emotional support through individuals, groups, community partners, agencies and tribal elders.

c: Assist in meeting the Health, Welfare and Safety of every Person, Family and the Community.

d: Promote unity between people, families and the community to ensure the unity of all people and to strengthen and preserve cultural heritages.

These can be accomplished through communication, community collaboration, guidance, caring and empathetic direction for the benefit of Healing, Growth and Recovery process that is occurring.

LISTEN, not to Respond in your way, yet to grasp the knowledge of the needs and how you can meet them.

RESPOND how you would wish to be treated in a respectful and supportive manner.

PROVIDE information and education for continued Healing, Growth and Recovery.

BE WILLING to walk alongside until they are able to go it on their own.

BE Mindful or AWARE of PEOPLE and COMMUNITY NEEDS and CONCERNS

REMEMBER

a: Protect the People, Families and Communities. People Come First not the materialism of our world

b: Respond with Compassion and Sincerity

c: Act with Empathy and Kindness

d: Be Sensitive of Self and Others

Live with INTEGRITY OF CHARACTER in all Interactions, Interventions and Relationships

a: Give Respect through Positive Attitudes toward Self and Others

b: Be Honest and straightforward, nor allowing situations or people to question your Sincerity and Integrity

c: Demonstrating Caring & Professionalism Interactions & Relationships

d: Be a Role Model for Safety, Acceptance, Connection, and Validations

We are here to serve through team-work, pro-activeness, and clear two-way

communication.

We are a TEAM in this World.  T.E.A.M= Together Each Achieve More

REMEMBER WHAT Healing, Growth, Recovery and Support are to be:

We are here to LISTEN

Not to work MIRACLES.

We are here to HELP people DISCOVER what they are FEELING.

Not to make FEELINGS go away.

We are here to HELP people IDENTIFY their OPTIONS

Not to DECIDE for them what they should do.

We are here to DISCUSS STEPS with people.

Not to take the STEPS for them.

We are here to HELP people DISCOVER their own STRENGTHS. .

Not to RESCUE them and leave them still VULNERABLE.

WE are here to HELP people DISCOVER THEY CAN DO IT THEMSELVES

Not to take RESPONSIBILITY for them.

WE are here to HELP PEOPLE LEARN TO CHOOSE

Not to make it unnecessary for them to make DIFFICULT choices.

WE ARE HERE TO PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR CHANGE

Not to make them Change!

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
