4 Secrets for a Major Life Shift

Insights for making breakthrough a way of life.

Well, just a few weeks ago we officially ended the second quarter of 2019. We are now in the third quarter of 2019 and we are halfway through the year. The last few weeks have been extremely busy for me. Balancing books, setting my strategic focus for the next few months and trying to plan some rest and relaxation have all been on my to-do list. I hope you can look back at the first half of 2019 with a sense of pride and accomplishment. If you are not quite where you want to be, the great thing is that you still have time to make some adjuments and achieve your goals. I want to share a few insights I have learned about making life adjustments. As someone that has done the work and empowered others for success, I know that you can make breakthrough a way of life. Apply these 4 secrets and you will experience a major life shift!

  1. Adjustment begins with the way that you think. If you are familiar with my work, then you know I am known around the world as a respected thought leader. While people respect me today, few people know the process that has produced the results that you see today. Nothing in my life changed until I took the time to address my thinking. An undeveloped mind will always produce an unfruitful life. As someone that has trained and developed leaders around the world, I am amazed at how so many people are looking for shortcuts. The problem with shortcuts is that it robs you of sustainable success. For years, I spent quality time dissecting my thoughts, disrupting thought patterns and ultimately shifting my paradigm. What most people do not understand is that all life changes require a paradigm shift. You will never step into a new tomorrow with yesterdays thinking. I challenge you to take some time and evaluate what you are thinking. You should not allow anything to occupy your mind that opposes the momentum of your life. Adjusting your life begins by adjusting the way that you think. Nothing can enter your life without the expansion of your mind.
  2. Adjustment requires you to leave the familiar. So many times we have a desire to change our lives. However, I have discovered that most people are not willing to be inconvenienced to change their lives. I have written seven books, won numerous awards and trained and empowered people around the world to fulfill purpose and maximize their greatest potential. Many people love what my life has produced but they are not interested in the process. The price of anything is revealed in its process. Too many people embrace the familiar at the expense of the future. It is nothing wrong with wanting a comfortable life. On the other hand, you will never shatter ceilings and live beyond limits as long as you are comfortable. Resolutions and affirmations are not enough to move you out of your comfort zone. You must be willing to take bold action in the direction of your desired outcome. Your life will never flourish in a place of familiarity. When you dare to take a bold step of faith, you are empowered to conquer new frontiers.
  3. Adjustment always requires new strategies. A better tomorrow will never be created with old tools. In other words, outdated strategies will always oppose new seasons in your life. Many times we set out with great intentions. However, intention without insights will always produce an ineffective life. If you are going to have what you have never had before, then you must be willing to do something that you have never done before. That means that your mind has to be stretched. One of the ways that you stretch your mind is by accessing new information. Now would be a good time to get some new books, download some new podcasts, attend some new events and network with new people. Learning always shifts the seasons of your life. As a highly respected thought leader, I am always learning and growing so that I can remain on the cutting-edge. Your strategies always define your victory or defeat. Your strategies shape your vision, bring focus to your goals and dictate your priorities. Every major win in my life has been the result of a strategy. Emotion and passion are not enough. A strategy is the only way you will ever move from an idea in your mind to manifestation in your world. Strategy is how you shorten the distance to success.
  4. Adjustment will require uncommon focus. I have been fortunate to achieve some great things in my life. Often times people ask me for the key to my success. While I believe that many factors go into creating a life of success, I believe that uncommon focus has been a major key in my life. Time is a precious commodity. I have observed over the years that most people waste entirely too much time. We waste time in relationships that are going nowhere. We waste time pursuing ambitions that never result in achievement. We waste time catering to things that cripple our potential. My closest friends will tell you that I guard my time relentlessly. I control my moments and I refuse to allow anyone else to dictate my schedule. I make no space in my life for pursuits that conflict with my priorities. My ability to master my time has produced uncommon results in my life. Why am I so protective of my time? Time measures the effectiveness of our lives. Focus is the only vehicle that will bring you into your future. Distractions will always seek to divide you from your assignment. However, I have discovered that concentration sets you on the course to destiny. As we move into the last half of this year, allow time to become an agent for your purpose and progression. Be intentional about where you invest your moments. Make a decision that you are going to build your future by not allowing anything to break your focus.

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
