Ways To Remain Busy While Staying Indoors

Coronavirus has upended the world and life as we know it has been halted for the foreseeable future. While staying at home, limiting our interactions with other human beings and avoiding large gatherings are relatively easy things to do, living in quarantine is not for the faint of hearts.

Living in isolation is not a walk in the park. It can take a toll on the mental and physical health of people. In order to keep yourself sane and your mind healthy, you need to take some necessary measures so that you don’t go out of your mind as you stay at home for upcoming weeks.

Here are 3 ways you can keep your mind on the positives and not go insane.

Keep yourself busy

While the first few days or weeks will feel like heaven, you will slowly be out of your mind of boredom. Look for activities that will keep your mind healthy and happy. Avoid going out and take up hobbies. For example, you can catch up on the dramas you have missed while being busy with your job. Stay in touch with your loved ones by using FaceTime, Skype or Zoom.

Pick up exercise and meditation

Relax your mind and body by working out. You don’t have to go to the gym to work out. You can easily work out in your home. There are plenty of fitness instructors who have their own YouTube channels. Go there; pick a regime and work out every day.

You can also take up yoga and meditation as both of them will help you clear your mind and relax your body. It will make you feel less anxious, distress you and overall make sure you are in the right frame of mind.

Cherish what you have

While going out, having fun with friends is great, but being grateful for what you have is even better. Take this as a reminder that you have people you love a lot and give them your attention. Spend some time with your pets, pick up that book you bought but never read, and make sure you tell your family that you love them.

Sure, you cannot go out and get some pictures taken at the portable photo booth around the corner or even get a photo booth for rent to enjoy with your friends. But at the end of the day, by staying indoors, you are protecting yourself and your loved ones from the unknown.

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
