Genocide Survivors - Thriving Sustainably

The country known best known for it’s gorilla population and world class coffee has recently experienced a genocide killing over a million people, and yet, when you speak with the local people, there is a sense of hope and unity that trickles down from the President to the residents of Rwanda. Watch our video “Michaela’s Map: Rwanda,” to join Michaela on this epic journey to meet the everyday inspiring people of the land of a 1000 Hills.

Michaela meets locals working to conserve the country’s precious gorilla population, young genocide survivors creating sustainable employment for local women, even luxury hotels working to create sustainable opportunities within their surrounding communities, coffee growers and the people responsible for repopulating the BIG 5 Akagera National Park.
