Nuri Hannan

17-year-old student and activist

Nuri Hannan is a 17-year-old student at the Detroit International Academy for Young Women in Detroit, Michigan. Born in Sunamgonj, Bangladesh, Nuri moved with her family to The United States when she was 1-year-old. Upon graduation, Nuri plans to attend a four-year public university to earn a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, and she aims to pursue a Master’s degree in accounting. Nuri is a member of Global G.L.O.W., a nonprofit organization and special consultant for the UN ECOSOC focusing in gender equity work across 23 countries.
