Jeff Horton is a dedicated thought leader in the realms of education, inclusion, diversity, representation, and technology. Located in Duluth, Minnesota, Jeff is proud to serve his community as the Superintendent of his school. In his every day work, Jeff is committed to making meaningful improvements that will, ultimately, foster students' willingness to learn and expand their horizons. Throughout his years of experience, Jeff has witnesses first-hand the positive impacts diversity, inclusion, and representation have in the classroom.
In addition with his role in equity, Jeff Horton is passionate about technology and the impact that it has on the world around us, including education. Through technology, we’ve been able to connect around the globe in ways like never before and share information and insights in an entirely new and revolutionary way. It’s also helped take education from a straight and narrow discipline and expanded it to include more ways for people to learn and educate themselves and others. Technology is also bridging the gap for students with disabilities to be better able to connect with and absorb the educational material. He knows that an engaged student is a good student, and if we can work to increase the students’ engagement, we can also improve their learning.
As a result, he is a major proponent of the above, and advocates for equity in his school. To learn more about Jeff Horton and his work, be sure to visit his website!
“People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.”
