With nearly two decades of experience in the alternative fund industry, Charina Amunategui is making a difference with a mix of motivation, persistence and understanding.

Currently Executive Director for Business Development for MUFG Investor Services in New York City, she has nearly two decades’ worth of experience and has worked in the United States, Canada, Bermuda and the United Kingdom.
What gives Charina the necessary edge in her field is her extensive and practical knowledge of the business development cycle and her uniquely detailed process for client acquisition that involves an approach that is both consultative and technical in nature. She works with Private Equity/Real Estate/Infrastructure and Hedge Fund Investment Managers and designs solutions that maximizes operational efficiency throughout the investment cycle.
Since 2002, her professional portfolio has included hands-on work as a Fund Accounting Team Manager. She joined UBS Fund Services in 2006 and rose through the ranks from Account Manager, to Group Head, to Business Development Director prior to MUFG's acquisition in 2015. She has since become a primary contributor to the overall success and growth of the MUFG Investor Services fast-growing $600B AUA alternative fund servicing business through business development activities related to NAV production, fund finance, banking, registrar and transfer agency, regulatory reporting, custody, and full fund administration services. Today, the scope of her work also includes initiatives in the United States and Latin America.
In her spare time, she is a fitness buff who is set to compete in the recently-added wellness category of the North American bodybuilding scene. Her dedication to the sport has helped her stay disciplined and focused in her line of work.
