Anant Agarwal

edX CEO and MIT Professor
Anant Agarwal is the CEO of edX, an online learning destination founded by Harvard and MIT, and professor of electrical engineering and computer science at MIT. He taught the first edX course on circuits and electronics from MIT, which drew 155,000 students from 162 countries. He is passionate about understanding the skills transformation facing today’s workplace, and how the evolution of MOOCs and online learning can help address this issue. He is a successful serial entrepreneur, having co-founded several companies including Tilera Corporation, which created the Tile multicore processor, and Virtual Machine Works. In 2012, Agarwal was named to Forbes’ list of top 15 education innovators. He holds a PhD from Stanford and a Bachelor's degree from IIT Madras.
