You Have to Say NO

How to give to others from a place of overflow, not at the sacrifice of your own well-being.

If you’re anything like me you’re super sensitive to other people and their energy. You want everyone to be happy and as a result of this desire to make everyone happy you rarely if ever say no.

Here’s the thing.

I know, right? You want to, but it just isn’t possible.

You’re a people pleaser. Due to your mission to please everyone you put yourself last and as a result you often feel completely drained, and if we’re being honest, a little (or a lot) resentful.

Also, when you constantly give to others and not yourself you start reaching out to other things outside yourself to find the nourishment that you crave. This can manifest itself in many different ways. Emotional eating, binge watching TV, drinking, and the list goes on.

You’ve heard your whole life that you need to give to others and you feel like it’s expected. Again, being honest.

You weren’t given the whole picture. Yes, you need to give to others, but from a place of overflow, not at the sacrifice of your own well-being.

When you put yourself first you’re then able to give to others unconditionally feeling fulfilled and not obligated.

Taking care of yourself first allows you to give to others from a place of overflow with greater capacity because YOU are fulfilled.

So what does this look like?

Make time for yourself EVERYDAY and make it non-negotiable. By non-negotiable I mean this comes first. It’s right up there with eating or sleeping.

Establish boundaries. This can feel really hard to do at first and that’s because you’re reconditioning your behavioral patterns AND those of other people who are used to you saying yes to everything.

Let go of all toxicity in your life. If it isn’t helping you, it’s HURTING YOU. Be willing to let go of relationships, things, habits, and even jobs that no longer serve your highest good.

I know you have your own dreams and desires for your life. The life you REALLY want will never happen if you continue to self-sabotage by putting yourself last all the time.

How would it feel to be fulfilled and happy with yourself AND feel happy to give back to others? Pretty freaking good, right?

It CAN happen but only if you start making different decisions.

Don’t wait until the Universe puts something much more obvious in your path to help you shift.
