Yanimed, a Malta-based brand known for its high-quality nitrile gloves and protective masks, has just shared tips to protect hands while using nitrile gloves. The latex-free nitrile gloves are well tolerated by the skin and ideal for allergy sufferers.

Trusted protective glove and mask brand Yanimed has recently discussed tips to help nitrile glove users protect their hands. A brand owned by Malta-based Blokkx Ltd., Yanimed manufactures nitrile gloves and protective masks that have been used with great results in the medical field. The use of Nitrile gloves have increased significantly since the recent outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. The hand care tips from Yanimed will be particularly useful for healthcare workers using these gloves.

Nitrile is a synthetic rubber compound that is commonly used as a disposable glove material.  Nitrile has been around for a while, but only recently it’s become more affordable, which explains why it’s gaining popularity throughout medical, food and cleaning industries. Nitrile has a higher puncture resistance than any other glove material. Nitrile also has a better chemical resistance than Latex or Vinyl gloves.

One of the factors leading to the growing popularity of disposable nitrile gloves is the fact that latex causes many people to suffer from allergic reactions. Using nitrile gloves not only protects the wearer from experiencing allergies, but any other person that may come in contact with the gloves. Moreover, disposable nitrile gloves are form-fitting and have a low resistance to friction.

Yanimed informs that because of hand’s natural reaction to a tight and hot environment; sweat can make wearing gloves uncomfortable and even lead to skin problems. When skin is exposed to sweat for a prolonged time, it weakens and becomes more vulnerable.  Any moist environment is the perfect breeding ground for bacteria and fungus. In short, gloves are a necessary precaution, but without taking steps to reduce heat and sweat buildup, gloves can quickly become a source of discomfort and health issues.

The team of experts at Yanimed recommends users to wear nitrile gloves for appropriate skin protection. However, as disposable nitrile gloves nestle closely to the skin, wearing them for more extended periods can cause heat build-up and sweat to form. Therefore, anyone wearing nitrile gloves should take adequate measures to counter sweaty glove hands.

“There are lots of topical creams/gels available in the market to counter perspiration and irritation of the skin caused by frequent usage of lab gloves. Another strategy to avoid the sweaty hand problem is to wear fabric gloves underneath. However, most convenient method to avoid sweaty hands is to change your gloves regularly. It is also critical to give glove-free time to hands to avoid sweaty hands,” said a senior spokesperson from Yanimed.

The nitrile gloves from Yanimed are available in sizes S-XL, are well stretchable and offer excellent tactile sensitivity. The fingers of these powder-free and latex-free gloves are textured for the desired grip.
