before the world awakes
before the sun shines
before the thoughts of each of us disturb the silence that just is

i will come to you
with the light that shines in me
and i will merge with the light that shines in you.
no words
no actions
no movement
i will meet you in that stillness
and we will celebrate
and rejoice
and dance the motionless dance of ecstasy together.

in this silence
we will speak wordless words
of prayers that have no names
and we will listen
oh we will listen
ears wide open,
heart open even more than possible
and we will
hear you
in the stillness
and understand.

will you join me
in the quiet before all noise
and listen
perhaps we will hear the silence of each others soul
or the beauty of the one voice
behind all the chaos and confusion
of the world that speaks but does not know

will you meet me here?

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
