Why Tomorrow Doesn’t Matter

Living in the present moment is what counts

The Thrive Global Community welcomes voices from many spheres on our open platform. We publish pieces as written by outside contributors with a wide range of opinions, which don’t necessarily reflect our own. Community stories are not commissioned by our editorial team and must meet our guidelines prior to being published.

“Breathe. Trust. Allow. There is only Now. This moment. This heartbeat. This breath.” ~ Alexandra Domelle

How much of today have you spent planning for tomorrow?

How much of today have you spent dreaming about tomorrow?

How much of today have you spent living in tomorrow?

Tomorrow doesn’t matter.

Tomorrow doesn’t matter because it does not exist.

Tomorrow doesn’t matter because it may never come.

At least not in the way you expect it.

The thing about plans is how rarely they turn out exactly the way you planned them.

The thing about dreams is how rarely they turn out exactly the way you dreamed them.

The thing about living in tomorrow is how much you miss out living in the Present.

The Present. Here. Now.

The only guarantee you have.

The only certainty.

The only moment.

Stop reading and look up.

Look around.

This moment.

This breath.

This heartbeat.

This is it.

Not the Past.

Not the Future.

Only Now.

This is what matters.

How will you use this moment?

Will you use it to plan for a tomorrow that doesn’t exist?

Will you use it to try and control every aspect of your Life?

Or will you use it to Be, to simply Be?
