What we put IN our body matters and so does what we put ON our bodies.

What we put IN our body matters and so does what we put ON our bodies. I often forget the importance of putting truly natural products on my skin, face and hair. I was reminded recently as I had the pleasure of attending the Beauty 2 Organic Skin Care show in NYC last week. I learned so much about the benefits of organic skin care. They even had organic nail polish, since nails are skin and porous this makes perfect sense. Most all products were both gluten free and vegan. The colors, scents and textures of these products were nothing short of amazing.

If you have not thought about your make up and skin care check out these benefits of organic skin care :

Eco Earth-friendly: Products made from conventionally produced ingredients can have a negative environmental impact. When ingredients for natural health and beauty products are farmed and manufactured organically, fewer chemicals are put into the air and water.

Less irritation: Chemicals, artificial colors, and fillers in skin care products and makeup can cause redness, irritation, and breakouts. Natural makeup, skin care products, and body products work with your skin instead of against it.

Smell better Natural health and beauty products smell like their natural ingredients, not a cocktail of chemicals. Natural health and beauty products scented with natural essential oils can even provide aromatherapy.

Less side effects: Natural health and beauty products use natural preservatives, such as grapefruit seed extract, that won’t affect your body. And while some people have allergies to a few natural ingredients (lanolin, which comes from wool, is an allergen for some), the effects are much less severe than the ones from synthetic ingredients.

Gentle : Many natural products work better than their conventional counterparts because they don’t contain unnecessary fillers or irritants. Some unnatural products may seem to work better with the first try, over the long-term, the harmful chemicals that made your skin feel cleaner or your hair feel smoother may actually cause damage.

I eat healthy and I work out – Now it’s time to take it to the next level and be rigorous with my skin, hair and make-up purchases. Cruelty free matters and so does putting natural products on my body. My plan is to use up any existing product that may not fit the criteria and replace only with the good stuff.

My favorite find at the show was RealHer natural and empowering make up. The lipstick I was given said “Be your Best” the eye shadow said “I am Fabulous”

RealHer has great packaging, messaging and it’s all natural.
