With the advancements of technology in the field of hardware and telecommunication has given us the luxury of comfortably communicating with basically anyone in the world with just a click away.

This phenomenon has also given birth to a new type of work which is remote work. Most people in their 20s and 30s are starting to choose remote work over the traditional 9-5 office commute. Here are a few reasons why the trend will keep on growing:

No Commute

Seems obvious right? This is one of the main factors why I also choose to work remotely. Commuting is one of the worst time wasters and by not commuting people like me have more time to exercise and do something else before work.

1-2 hours of free time in the morning is very precious for anyone including me and that is why I love working remotely since I do not have any travel expenses as well.

No Office Politics

This is a double-edged sword because for some people being involved in office politics is a chance for them to learn and improve communication skills. But personally I always avoided any office politics back when i was still working in an office and i don’t intend on being involved in the future.

By working remotely i can’t cut down useless communication and also communicate with people about work, as i should while someone is working right?.

My Profession Allows Remote Working

As much as i don’t like to admit it there are still some professions that can’t be done remotely, doctors and mechanics are the first two that came to my mind. However since i am working as an online marketer and my job is building brand exposure online, there is no need for me to be “there” when work has to be done.

If you are looking to work remotely make sure your line of work allows remote working in the first place.

More Family Time

I am currently living with my parents and even i noticed that by working remotely has given me more time to socialize with my parents. I imagine that the same applies if i have a wife and kids. Being there for my family when they need it is my priority and remote work has given me the luxury of doing just that.
