Which is the Most Useful Soap Solution?

There are various kinds of soap that are manufactured for different purposes- Bar soap and liquid soap, commercial, and handmade soap. The question that arises is what is the best choice for us. We’ll see how they differ from each other based on various factors now.

Bar Soap vs. Liquid Soap

Soap is manufactured in either solid or liquid form, and most of the time we are stuck wondering what we should choose. After all, soap plays an important role in our daily lives, and you need to select the best for yourselves carefully. While bar soaps have been around for the longest time, liquid soaps have taken up the industry in the most recent times.

Effectiveness

The most important factor of any soap is its pH level. There are soaps with different pH levels that you can get from different shops depending on your requirements. Most of the liquid soap benefactors challenge the use of bar soaps based on its effect on the skin. The pH level is usually high in commercial soap that can damage the skin.

Although there is glycerin in most of the bar soaps that are useful for the skin for sensitivities such as eczema. A pH control bar soap can also be useful for the skin.

Ingredients

The bar soaps are processed from vegetable oil or animal fat, which is known as saponification. The saponified oils and fats are then amalgamated with strong alkali to make it a block of soap. While, the liquid soaps are made primarily from petroleum, using emulsifiers and stabilizers to maintain its consistency.

All these ingredients are approved by the governments and authorities for its use. Only a few of these chemicals are seen to have long term effects on the skin.

Ecological Waste

Although most of us buy products based on skin care and sensitivity, the liquid soaps cause more harm to the environment than the bar soaps. After extensive research, it was found that liquid soaps generate about 25% of the carbon footprint in the environment than bar soaps.

The manufacturing of these liquid soap requires more chemical feed, almost 7 times more than the bar soap. Hence, the processing of liquid soap leads to the wastage of energy and produces more carbon footprint.

Handmade Soap vs. Commercial Soap

While commercial soaps have been leading a soap industry for quite a long time now, the environment and skin conscious people have slowly shifted to the organic industry.

Ingredients

The most important difference between any commercial and organic products are the ingredients while manufacturing the product. The handmade soap ingredients are naturally grown and are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and useful minerals. While the commercial products are chemically synthesized. This may also cause irritation to the skin, and consistent use may damage the skin.

Skin Protection

The handmade soaps made from natural products prevent itchy-skin. It is ideal for people with sensitive skin and children with soft skin. It acts as a natural moisturizer and remains gentle on the skin. On the other hand, commercial soaps can have harmful effects on the skin and may cause allergic reactions.

Environment-Friendly

Handmade soaps are environment-friendly. They are made from natural ingredients and contain biodegradable properties that can nourish the environment without causing any adverse reaction. In contrast, the commercial products are made from chemicals and synthetics that may harm the useful substances and bacteria in the environment because of it’s hydrocarbon chain property.

Conclusion

There are many reasons that contribute to the use of products. While commercial products seem to have quick and effective results, it also causes harm in the long term. The handmade products are naturally good, but are not popular and are comparatively expensive.
