What if you can create an experience you want, the way you want, using a single online platform?

Experiential Services

Life is full of experiences and we have the free will to choose the experience we want to have.

Speaking of experiences, I have to say I am fascinated by traveling and learning from different cultures and ways of living. When I think of traveling I think of what I need to create the experience I want. To figure out what I need, I may look at different blogs and articles to get an idea of exciting place to visit and interesting things to do while traveling. Then I have to think about arranging the services I need such as rent a car, rent a camping equipment, airline reservation, book a hotel, arrange a taxi to the hotel I stay at and other things I need along the way.

The internet hosts a vast reservoir of resources that can help me in arranging the services I need. I can think of Google and a number of cool sites that are out there but the catch is the amount of time and focus I put in place in researching and arranging the experience I want to have. To ease the effort, I can for instance go to the TripAdvisor site or any other travel site and spend some time doing searches for my airline, hotel and perhaps taxi arrangement. OK once I am done arranging all these, I still have to rent a camping equipment and any other service I need and for that I go to another website. I appreciate all these online services out there in making my life easier by handling unnecessary hassle. But the combined effort to make a traveling experience happen is really too much and really time consuming.

You can think of numerous experiences you want to have such as dating experience, concert experience, birthday party experience, get-together experience and a number of other experiences. Most probably you go through a number of online service platforms to arrange each of those experiences.

Then I started to think. To begin with why didn’t I have a mechanism to arrange the experience I want to have with a single point of access than going from one service website to another? I am not aware of any platform that allows me to arrange the experience I want with a single point of access. And when arranging a certain experience, bear in mind that there are a number of services I am looking at but currently I don’t have efficient way of organizing all the services I need to make the arrangement effortless. Yeah well, I can use the good old pen and paper but come on! There has to be a better way. And if next time I want to repeat the experience I had earlier, I have to repeat the researching and arranging the services but why couldn’t I get a platform that allows me to effortlessly repeat the experience I had before ?

Moving along the line of taught I had, an interesting but different idea came to my mind. And it goes like this. Let’s take a different scenario. Let’s say my movie preference is known in a certain online platform. Then I taught within this online platform I can get recommendations for a nearby DVD rental store with movies matching my preference or get a list of nearby cinemas showing movies I enjoy. So the idea of expressing my taste for certain themes and later on getting related recommendations felt really nice.

I kept having endless ideas of what could be possible if I had an online platform which allows me to arrange experiences I want. What I need is a single point of access to express my need and a creative mechanism to create my experience.

These all have been a topic of discussion for a team of professionals mostly from computer science background that I have been part of for a long time. And we are looking forward to hear your views on the points expressed so far and feel free to forward any of your constructive comments. We feel that arranging an experience you want, the way you want, with a single online platform is the next area of innovation. What do you think?

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
