Sulaiman Al-Fahim is proud to announce the appointment as UN IIMSAM Goodwill Ambassador of Ms. Wafaa Ben Khalifa. In her new role, Ms. Ben Khalifa will use her notability to further the cause of feeding large populations who too often go hungry. It is only the latest recognition of a luminary who has given much of her life to helping others.

This IIMSAM Goodwill Ambassadorship represents the latest recognition of Ms. Ben Khalifa’s considerable contribution to global wellness. An author, publisher, entrepreneur and philanthropist, Ms Ben Khalifa has already earned honors recognizing her contributions to global health and education from the Rotary Foundation, Sheikh Saeed Ban Tahnoon, and UN Secretary-General Ban-Ki Moon.

Ms. Ben Khalifa’s mission has consisted of amplifying the voices which often go unheard. Through her magazine Sabrina, she brought attention to the issues that matter for female populations throughout the Middle East. As founder of Gate of the Golden Dawn, she brought support to children of all backgrounds: educating and empowering young people to bring their dreams into reality. In furtherance of this mission, she also plans to open a school for underprivileged scholars in Alexandria, Egypt, and an educational organization in Tunisia.

Ms. Ben Khalifa’s prestigious Ambassadorship comes in recognition of her tireless efforts in international health initiatives. Alongside the Intergovernmental Institution for the use of Micro-algae Spurina Against Malnutrition (IIMSAM), she has been a leader in developing innovative ways to deliver necessary nutrition to the global poor. Through new scientific developments, IIMSAM have been able to fight malnutrition across the world, giving new hope and opportunity to those who need them most.

Sulaiman Al-Fahim was effusive with praise for Ms. Ben Khalifa: “This honor came as no surprise. I have been impressed with Wafaa’s determination and compassion for as long as I have known her, and the United Nations are fortunate to have her to help carry out their mission of peace.”

As the Ambassador at Large for the Middle East and Asia, it has been Mr. Al-Fahim’s mission to identify exceptional personalities to join him in drawing attention to vital causes. Ms. Ben Khalifa will now enjoy a larger platform from which to advocate for greater quality of life for people in need from all corners of the world.

Ms. Ben Khalifa was honored at a reception in New York hosted by the Society of Diplomatic Review, where diplomats and ambassadors all joined Mr. Al-Fahim in applauding this well-earned recognition for a career of ongoing service.
