Network
There is an old saying that says it is not about what you know but who you know. This is not 100 percent true but there is some truth in it. If you want to start a business it is helpful if someone is willing to invest in it by giving you money to start your company. Small business networking is a great way to expand your company while meeting new people who can mentor and help you.
There are many ways to network. This can be something as simple as talking to the person next to you in the checkout line at the grocery store. If that is not your style there are always events and conferences that are going on for people to meet other people. This is such a big factor with any business. Location is everything. If you are running a small bakery you want it to be in a place that is accessible and gets a lot of traffic. The market for any business is usually changing. This gives you the freedom and fluidity to use your creative side. You do not have to be constantly changing your products or services but you will want to stay informed about how the market is changing.
