As we approach the end of the first quarter, I hope you can look back on the last three months with a sense of pride and accomplishment. The start of 2020 has been extremely busy for me but I am on track with my goals for the year and excited about finishing out this quarter and starting the second quarter in a few short weeks. Momentum is an important factor in creating sustainable success. I want to share a few insights with you on using momentum to your advantage. This can be the greatest year of your life and with focus, commitment and consistency you can achieve your goals.

  • You need to set specific goals. So many tell me that they have their goals in their head. However, you need to get your goals out of your head and written down on paper. We do not achieve what we commit to memory. On the other hand, what you pen to paper sets a precedent for priority in your life. So I want you to take a moment and write down your goals for 2020. I can hear some of you saying that it is too late. However, it is never too late. In fact, it is still early in the year and this is a great opportunity to refocus and produce some results. Do not be vague in writing down your goals. Be specific and give yourself clear deadlines. Specificity is important in attracting success and prosperity in your world. The greater the accuracy the more you are empowered to align and attract success.
  • You need to get clear about your priorities. It is not enough for you to just set your goals. I want you to get crystal clear about your priorities. As someone that has empowered people around the world to fulfill purpose and maximize potential, I have learned that your priorities determine your progress and define your prosperity. You will never complete anything that you have not committed to making a priority in your life. What are your priorities? Every single day of my life I set my priorities. When I set my priorities, it immediately weeds out unnecessary activities, eliminates distractions and empowers me to operate with laser focus. Priorities determine what you say yes to and what you say no to. More importantly, priorities determine where you direct your energy and how effective you become. 2020 will look just like 2019 if you do not take the time to get clear about your priorities. Without clear priorities, you will always live as a slave to the schedules and plans of other people. Priorities empower you to aggressively guard your time and invest your energy in the things that are most important to you. This strategy is key if you want to be successful.
  • You must become a person of action. While it is great to get clear about your priorities, one of the most important things you can do is take action in the direction of your dreams. Too many people are dreaming of a better life. However, dreams without action become nightmares. This is the year that you must take aggressive action in the direction of your desired outcome. Many times we are overwhelmed with the enormity of a vision. My work over the years has taught me that you have to break your vision down into chunks. In other words, you have to break down the vision into bite-sized steps in order to see it become a reality. Then you have to take one action step every single day towards dream fulfillment. If you only pursue your goals occasionally then you will only experience occasional success. Conversely, if you pursue your goals diligently then you will guarantee your success. Do not become overwhelmed with the size of your vision. You simply need to develop a strategy for accomplishing your vision. Strategy will empower you with the disciplines to shorten the distance to success and prosperity in your life.
  • You must master the art of consistency. Many people over the years have asked me what the key to my success has been. Honestly, many things have contributed to my success over the years. One of the main things that have set me apart is my consistency. For me, consistency is not just essential for success. I believe that consistency is the engine that drives all success in your life. Consistency is the ability to remain resolute despite contradictions, challenges or crises. Consistency is the discipline that empowers one to be unphased or unaffected by uncertainty. Consistency is a muscule that is only developed through resistance. The problem I have seen over the years is that everybody wants to break into the realm of greatness but nobody wants to encounter resistance. Every new realm in your life is accessed through resistance. Consistency is what builds in you the capacity to thrive in moments of adversity. I can assure you that 2020 will present challenges, contradictions, and conflicts in your life. However, your response to the resistance will determine the realm that you live from. Consistency is an art form that will empower you to thrive and prosper in every season of your life. Consistency is possessing the courage to stand when everything around you is shaky. Furthermore, consistency is the fortitude to endure when fear and frustration try to speak to you. Consistency is the key to completing anything in life.
