gift guide for entrepreneurs

It’s my favorite time of the year. No, it’s not because of the shopping, gifts, or other materialistic things.

Instead, it’s the scented candles, decorations, and ambiance. In fact, when it comes to putting together a list of things I’d like for Christmas, I’m lost. I’m not alone.

Studies show that experiences make people happier than material things, so let’s cut down the clutter and give more experiences in additional to unique, non-materialistic gifts.

Books

I’m a reader. I like to read both fiction and non-fiction books. As a business owner, I’m constantly learning and I love books that help me grow both personally and professionally.

Some examples include Own Your Brilliance by Michelle M. Gomez or The Best Ever Planner by Jennifer Dawn.

Tickets to an Event

Business owners are always going to events to learn more and grow.

Tickets to an event make a great gift because many entrepreneurs can find their businesses changing shortly after an event due to the knowledge they gain and the people they meet.

This gift could be invaluable.

Trip

Every entrepreneur needs some downtime, so why not plan a getaway?

Something that can make this extra special is planning the trip day by day. For something like this, check out The Italian on Tour that crafts an authentic collection of itineraries while specializing in gluten-free travel throughout parts of Italy.

You’re going to need something to help you make that trip. For that, I suggest anything by the leading travel fashion blogger, Alexandra Jimenez. Her line is called Compass Rose and her most popular item is the packing cubes.

Art Classes, Music Classes, Dance Classes, etc. with gear for it

While we’re on the subject of downtime, what about a hobby? It’s easy to get caught up with work that there is little to no time for fun.

Entrepreneurs need to make time for hobbies, so invest in a guitar with music classes to go along with it. If it’s some new workout clothes, a gym membership or dance classes would be a perfect fit.

Subscription Box

Who doesn’t love snail mail?! I regularly subscribed to Birch Box and Ipsy and looked forward to the surprises inside every few weeks. There are countless subscription boxes you could give as a gift depending on your interests and likes, but I’ll name a couple here.

If you know a female entrepreneur, she will love Sparkle Hustle Grow, a monthly subscription box with tools, training, and community to help you grow businesses.

Then, there’s the All Girls Shave Club for ladies who understand the value of self-care and will enjoy unique, specialty shaving and body products delivered right to the door.

Games

I love playing games and there is nothing better than a game night with family or friends.

Depending on the game, you could learn more about each other and have conversations. For example, Vertellis is a great option for conversation because the game prompts you to have conversations by answering questions.

Professionally, playing games could also be a great team building experience as well.

Convenient Gift Cards

I remember when I asked for a vacuum cleaner for Christmas one year. Everyone thought I was crazy, but hey, I really needed a new vacuum cleaner.

If you write a lot, notebooks and pens are a welcome gift, so a gift card to a cute, local stationery store would be fun. If you’re traveling a lot, gift cards for hotels and restaurants make being on the road a lot more convenient and less expensive.

When buying for an entrepreneur or making a Christmas list for yourself, consider things that would make you grow both personally and professionally. Those are the gifts that keep on giving.

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
