Tunde Kehinde, an Entrepreneur, on Passion that Makes a Positive Impact

"I feel daily like I make a positive difference in people’s lives!"

The Thrive Global Community welcomes voices from many spheres on our open platform. We publish pieces as written by outside contributors with a wide range of opinions, which don’t necessarily reflect our own. Community stories are not commissioned by our editorial team and must meet our guidelines prior to being published.

When you have the opportunity to ask some of the most interesting people in the world about their lives, sometimes the most fascinating answers come from the simplest questions. The Thrive Questionnaire is an ongoing series that gives an intimate look inside the lives of some of the world’s most successful people.

Thrive Global: What’s the first thing you do when you get out of bed?

Tunde Kehinde: I say a quick prayer thanking God for waking me up, giving me health and for constantly blessing and protecting my family, friends and team members!

TG: What gives you energy?

TK: My work, I feel daily like I make a positive difference in people’s lives! Plus going to gym, a good run and swim

TG: What’s your secret life hack?

TK: Taking time away from the office to read, think and plan – helps give clarity on what to do and what not to do. Also, having clear to do lists of no more than 10 key things a day.

TG: Name a book that changed your life.

TK: The Outsiders by William Thorndike

TG: Tell us about your relationship with your phone. Does it sleep with you?

TK: Yes, unfortunately

TG: How do you deal with email?

TK: I check emails at specific times of the day. If it is important, people will call or text.

TG: You unexpectedly find 15 minutes in your day, what do you do with it?

TK: Go for a walk

TG: When was the last time you felt burned out and why?

TK: Whenever I don’t take a break after too many months without one!

TG: When was the last time you felt you failed and how did you overcome it?

TK: As an entrepreneur you are always dealing with setbacks. You learn it’s never as bad as it seems at the time. Step away, reflect and get back at it!

TG: Share a quote that you love and that gives you strength or peace.

TK: My mother always says; just do your best and have fun
