Top Tiers: How I start viral marketing on Instagram?

Anyone who is a user of social networks knows that the most successful publications are those that contain images or videos. In fact, this is for a very simple reason: it is much faster and more convenient to absorb visual (or audiovisual) content than texts, especially when talking about mobile users. It all started on June 4th […]

The Thrive Global Community welcomes voices from many spheres on our open platform. We publish pieces as written by outside contributors with a wide range of opinions, which don’t necessarily reflect our own. Community stories are not commissioned by our editorial team and must meet our guidelines prior to being published.

Anyone who is a user of social networks knows that the most successful publications are those that contain images or videos. In fact, this is for a very simple reason: it is much faster and more convenient to absorb visual (or audiovisual) content than texts, especially when talking about mobile users. It all started on June 4th 2015, after being tired of searching for what our (Jaden Bell and Dylan Kite) careers consist of. We decided to start posting exactly what we knew best, making people laugh, college parties, fights and viral content to raise attention. So the opportunity of viral content is provided by a creator of Top Tiers.

Have you thought about doing viral marketing on Instagram, for example?

Instagram has been gaining more and more fans. After all, this social network combines audiovisual content with mobile platforms, with a simple image editor that allows any user to make the most of their clicks. We reached 22k followers in a month just to won the bet with a college fellow (Jaden). Magically, after a few viral videos, “Top Tier” was gaining traction.

UNDERSTAND WHAT VIRAL MARKETING IS?

We often wonder why a particular post was so successful, right. Normally, we believe that the publication was not worthy of success, and we give random credit for that fact. After hitting around 35k followers, a company offers us $100 for posting and we had no idea that we could start making money on all of this stuff. But most of the time, content only goes viral after great planning. So we started selling shirts and getting a couple sells every other day was enough to keep us a little busy.

However, before continuing, we must remember that any viral marketing will only be effective if the product you want to advertise is of quality and meets customer expectations. We came out with a “show me your Busch” shirt. It went viral on social media specially Facebook and Instagram bringing in traction from people all over the world. We were gaining around 5-6 followers a day just from the amount of people coming from that shirt. In addition, your audience needs to be able to identify the value, which must differ from the cost, in what is offered for their purposes. We can say that viral marketing is the result of well-designed and well-planned campaigns, and not the other way around. Since we pursue Top Tiers as a full time real job. We created instagram pages with over 100k followers.

Pursue of Top Tiers as Career

Within a few months we built the new Instagram @toptiercollege to 300k followers in 2 months. After the 4th month and tracking down the guy who owned @toptier we came to an agreement with him to take over the Instagram handle. Keep in mind that viral marketing is involved in an advertising campaign that encourages users to spread and spread their message ahead. We started gaining tons of attraction after that. We made friends with celebrities and Athletes along the way. They love what we posted on Instagram and our other social media’s @toptieru on Facebook, @toptier on twitter. But how do you run a viral marketing campaign on Instagram specifically?

The answer is that to go viral, the post needs a strong, shareable, and irresistible message for users. Effective viral marketing is one that stirs emotions and moves people enough to absorb content and stream it. We have donated to multiple charities across the nation to help out with college students, hospital patients and disaster relief programs. Our new plans are to start a brand new podcast with just us the two owners (Jaden and Dylan) have celebrity guests and athletes appear on the show. It’ll be broadcasted on YouTube and ITunes.
