You might have heard that “everyone needs a mentor to be successful in their career” sometimes you might have got some mentoring advice from the people who wish for your success. It may be your parents, friends or other good wishers. They played the role of the mentor in those instances. In the case of business, there are some qualities and only when the person possesses those characters it is possible to have a good mentorship.

Knowledgeable:

One of the most important tasks of the mentor is to provide good guidance and advice to the mentees. This can be possible only if the mentor is well-knowledge in the aspect. Only when the person has sufficient knowledge in the field it is possible to become an efficient mentor.

Experience:

An entrepreneur is said to be a mentor only when he or she gains some experience in the field. Then might have faced certain situations and they should have exposed to solving some issues. This will make them stronger as a mentor. A lot of people claim to become an entrepreneur but the hardness lies in becoming the mentor.

Patience:

Patience is one of the most important qualities that are necessary for a mentor. The person may be smarter, successful, knowledge but this is not only enough for the successful mentor. The mentor should have some patience to handle some problems and absorb you when you go wrong and also to correct you.

Supportive:

Being the mentor it is very important to be supportive to you in all the situations. Also, they should be able to support you during the failures and should celebrate your success even it is the small one. They should be working for their own achievement or their ego. The right mentor will be proud of your success and regret your mistake as theirs.

Reliable:

For any aspect, it is important to be reliable and it is applicable to the mentors as well. Sometimes you may be in a situation where you are in a high dilemma regarding taking any decision. In those cases, you will just move t your mentor. At the time the advice that they give should be reliable and you should just follow them without any further confusions. Even when the decision goes wrong it should be purposefully.

Dedicated:

The mentor should be able to spend enough time with you to care for your success. A good mentor will be completely concentrated towards you and your business activities. If they are busy all the time or distractive, unconcerned, prone to rescheduling it is just a waste of time at both the ends. You may not enjoy the availability of the mentor.

Attitude:

No one love to be with the mentor who is rude, criticize, mistreat, unconstructive and harsh towards them. With those mentors, t is not possible for the mentees to be successful. The mentors should have some good attitude towards others even if they are in a higher position.

Choosing the mentor is all about the thing that you take to the proper business development. It is very important to choose the right mentor.
