Thrive and Shine: Confidence

A conversation with author RJ Jackson about his views on happiness.

The Thrive Global Community welcomes voices from many spheres on our open platform. We publish pieces as written by outside contributors with a wide range of opinions, which don’t necessarily reflect our own. Community stories are not commissioned by our editorial team and must meet our guidelines prior to being published.

3. What inspired you to write your book?

4. What do you want other to get out of your book?

I want our youth to understand that they have the power to experience a life of happiness. It all starts with their thoughts.

5. How can we all move forward on purpose and with great purpose?

By being happy. When we are happy then we can focus on attention on helping others. When we are unhappy, we naturally only focus on ourselves.

6. What is something each of us can do to SHINE?

We call all SHINE when we bring out our Superheroes. The superheroes help us bring forth positivity.

It means living a life of passion and purpose.

8. Are you planning another book or other launches?

My next book will help teenagers transform their confidence so that they can reach their full potential.

11. What is one thing you would tell others if they want to bring their message forward?

Believe and understand that there is no limit to the amount of potential you have to impact this world.

12. Anything else you would like to add?

Happiness is an emotion that all of us seek and desire. What many forget is that happiness is something that everyone has equal access to. Happiness starts with our thoughts. This book will help our youth learn how to manage their thoughts so that they can experience happiness.

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
