Summary:- The present article discusses the things that you need to consider while taking a student dorm on rent. It talks about the essential features of a good dorm.

Choosing the right type of dormitory is a vital decision in every student’s life. There are certain essential features that can help you choose just the right dorm when you are looking for a suitable living place in your college life.

Given here are the things that you should consider to find a suitable choice. Here is a quick look at these features:

Location:

Location of a dorm is the most essential factor to consider when you are looking for a suitable Toronto student dorm or a student dorm anywhere else. Also, it is important to consider how much walking you would need for getting to the places like the academic buildings, the dinning commons, may be a gym or any recreation center or a medical room etc. So, the basic consideration is the location. It is good to choose the campus in the most suitable place in the campus.

Parking Place:

When it comes to dorms, parking accessibility is something that students do not even think off some times. However, if you have a car to park then it is good to choose a dorm that has a parking lot adjacent to it.

Choose the Dorm That Has Your Classmates:

You are likely to get meals together or go to the sporting events and spend plenty of time with your dorm mates so it is good to choose your batch mates as your dorm mates also and indulge in a lot of discussions.

Choose Bathrooms Carefully:

This is your prime requisite. Different dorms have bathrooms designed in different ways. There are some dorms where you can get personal bathrooms but this is a rare luxury. In most of the cases common bathrooms are there. When you choose a common bathroom you have to share it with the rooms adjacent to you but when you choose community style bathrooms then you have to share it with a large number of people.

Basic Amenities:

It is important to note that all the dorm rooms do not look similar. In some of the dorms you will get all the basic amenties like new furniture, hard flooring, air conditioning, heating, lighting, carpeting and more but in others you do not. Since you have to spend a sizeable portion of life here so try to make your life comfortable by choosing the dorms that provide you these amenties. George Brown housing is a good and comfortable living option well-equipped with all the basic amenties.

Look for Lobbies:

Lobby is a great place to socialize, to indulge in the social gathering and to do your homework. You can have a fun-time here. Choose a dorm with lobby. Well-equipped with all the amenties and comfort that a student needs, UofT housing is a great accommodation for students.
