Business Insider has a list of five good reasons why you should kick-start your day not with coffee but with water — a morning ritual beloved by a host of business leaders, including Thrive Global founder and CEO Arianna Huffington.

Staying hydrated helps with body regulation and brain function, as nutritionist Rania Batayneh told BI. Drinking a glass of ice water in the morning, she added, can “boost your alertness and low energy levels.”
