The Importance of Internet and SEO Freedom and What Affects It

We live in a time when sadly not all people have access to the same information and content.

This is especially the case with the details posted on the Internet. There are a lot of countries in the world that hide things from the Internet in order to prevent people from reaching them.

This not only affects people’s knowledge of certain matters, but it shapes their opinions in a different direction. That’s why it’s very important to understand the existence of this issue and address it properly.

If you are interested in learning more about this matter, stay here as we unravel everything. But firstly, let’s strip down this topic to the basics and start from what Internet freedom means.

The Basics of the Term Internet and SEO Freedom
Actually, this terms unites multiple aspects like Internet neutrality, censorship, digital rights, freedom of information, and of course access to all content on the Internet. When people are free online it means that they can post and see everything without being pressured to do or not to do so.

Therefore, all limitations imposed by higher authorities go against what was previously said, forcing people to take drastic measures in order to restore their Internet rights. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) as a key to ensuring online visibility is also affected by all of this. Since information can be hidden, the keywords that are a part of the SEO strategies for ranking the sites higher are hidden, as well. And this chain goes on and on until online users can see no more details because others decided that they shouldn’t.

Internet Freedom Restrictions
Some big countries with troublesome histories and a lot of events happening all the time like India usually face certain Internet and SEO freedom restrictions when it comes to their online presence. Some of them are as follows.

Shutdown of the Internet
Especially, during huge events where important topics are being discussed and decisions are being made, the Internet in these countries stops for a few hours and maybe days until the event is done.

This way the citizens are cut off from the rest of the world, unable to see what is happening. For instance, in India, the Internet went down during protests and the United Nations Human Rights Council in 2014.

Preventing Online Communication
It’s a fact that a huge number of people nowadays tend to communicate online. In India, this communication was largely connected to organizing for protests. Apps like WhatsApp were utilized for this purpose, which resulted in blocking people out of the Internet and shutting it down for a while.

Lack of Content to Read
Even though companies like Google fight to increase the Internet literacy in countries like this and allow more people access to the Internet, it can be very demanding and challenging. Mainly, this is because people don’t always have content to read since a large part is hidden from them.

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
