I had the pleasure of interviewing Josh Ryan, an 18-year-old entrepreneur that runs his own 6-figure marketing agency. Like a lot of people in the online space, he tried many different things online over the next three years, but nothing seemed to stick for more than a week. Just before he turned sixteen Josh started the Instagram page @millionaire.dream posting motivational quotes, cool cars, houses, etc that would inspire both himself and others. Improving your mindset daily is important for entrepreneurs, here’s what he had so say about it.

The Importance of Having The Right Mindset For Entrepreneurs

Mindset is super important. The way you think, react and do things determines everything in life. So It’s super important to focus on improving it daily.

Was there ever a time you felt like giving up? Could you share that story and what you did to overcome your doubts?

Josh: I haven’t really had times where I felt like giving up as such. There were times where everything came crashing down, there were times I broke down in frustration, but I never really considered giving up as such cause to me there isn’t really another option that I wanted to pursue at the time so I just stuck with it. Ive always been solution focused so whenever shit hit the fan I would take a bit of time to be annoyed and then step back and ask how I can fix it. When all my Instagram pages and email accounts got hacked due to my phone number being sim swapped, I was pissed off, but I’ve come to realise that using your own emotions is kinda pointless in problem-solving, so I stepped back, made a plan and then went about doing what I needed to resolve the situation

Three Tips For Entrepreneurs Who Struggle With Doubt

Josh: If you are passionate about what you are doing, and you’re following a good mentor then you won’t have doubt, or it will be very minimal and not enough to affect you negatively. The only time I can imagine someone really doubting themselves is if they don’t enjoy what they are doing and therefore don’t see themselves committing to seeing through the plan for long enough to see success, or they are following a mentor who doesn’t have any results and therefore they are uncertain of what will happen as no one is leading the way. If you want to overcome doubt, look to the root, other than that, Just back yourself and believe 100% in who you are and what you can achieve.

Why do you think you are as successful as you are?

Josh: I don’t consider myself that successful yet, my goals are way bigger than what I’ve achieved so far. However to reach where I am now has come down to a lot of hard work, networking a lot, very encouraging and parents, and staying consistent for a long period of time.

Are there any entrepreneurs you look up to that the readers could learn from as well?

Josh: One of my favorite people to follow is Tim Ferriss, the fact he has built a very large business and brand, as well as living a life truly on his terms is something I want to achieve. Rather than just working my ass off to amass money and get old id prefer to have more adventure along the way and build a business as Tim has done.
