The Heart Check

The starting point for effortlessly leading yourself and others.

The Thrive Global Community welcomes voices from many spheres on our open platform. We publish pieces as written by outside contributors with a wide range of opinions, which don’t necessarily reflect our own. Community stories are not commissioned by our editorial team and must meet our guidelines prior to being published.

You have a decision to make,

an opportunity to consider.

Research gathered,

references checked,

courses of action assessed,

advice heard,

SWOT completed,

call to the universe made.

Check, check, check.

Check, check, check.

The answer is still unknown.

Time’s passing and you start to feel it.

Something shifts and all the things you checked fall away.

Suddenly you know, from somewhere inside.

That space between your heart and your gut.

In an instant, it’s clear.

An instant.

Through a check of the heart, you know.

Nothing done, barely any time passed.

And check. There it is.

Ah, that was simple.

What if next time you started there?

The heart check.

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
