The Best Time of Your Life

Insights on living by someone who likes to believe they're good at it

This is going to be the best time of your life!

Wait…but what actually defines “the best time of your life?”

How do you know if you’re currently living in the best time of your life?

The secret is…you don’t. You don’t know if life is going to get better, or even worse. There’s no narrator available to spoil the ending for you. You have to live each chapter to its end and more importantly, live each chapter to the fullest, creating your own story along the way.

Every good story has a beginning, a middle and an end. In life, this continuously repeats with everything you experience, negative and positive. It’s important to realize that every little thing comes to an end. Your dark nights will turn to light just as much as your happiest times will pass by in a blur, so don’t take any of it for granted.

Don’t lose sight of who you truly are in this craziness we call life, because it is extremely easy to get caught up in. You can go each day feeling like you’re a hamster running on a wheel, or you can find something you love, something that excites you, something you have always wanted to do, and do it.

Go see the world, experience something new, eat different food and make new friends. You don’t truly know yourself if you’ve never gone looking. So, here’s a pen and a blank piece of paper. This is the best time of your life…but most importantly this is your story…go write it.

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
