The 5 Keys to Dance Through The Illusions of Fear and Worry with Ease

Even though consciously you make the decision to change, grow and evolve, you will keep repeating the same mistakes until the subconscious is fully conscious.

We all have been there, for some is stronger than for others, all of us feel the terror barrier before doing something out of our comfort zone, when we are entering the unknown, when we see the first step of the ladder and not the whole picture, when we have to make the choice of trusting the moves we are making from a place of inner wisdom and not from our sight.

Limiting beliefs will show up, suddenly things you thought you had healed will test you again to see if you are strong enough or just faking it, thoughts spiral down and memories will test your faith and distract you from what you are creating if you let them.

Do not react, laugh it off, breath it in, let it go, observe the sudden chaos in your mind and comprehend that it is simply an illusion of the part of your brain that likes to feel safe.

Even though consciously you make the decision to change, grow and evolve, you will keep repeating the same mistakes until the subconscious is fully conscious.

Practice helps you strengthen your presence to help you breakthrough moments of tension in your life such as: breaking up a long term relationship, quitting a job that’s draining you, moving to a new country, signing up to the gym and feeling hyper-conscious about your body, the first time you wear a more flattering outfit after years of hiding under clothes or fat, showing up every day to your work and following through with the plan even when results are not evident, overcoming bullies, unsupportive family members, limiting past conditioning, limiting beliefs about religion, wealth and reality, every single of these breakthroughs requires you to step up and out from your comfort zone.

It becomes part of your practice to test yourself, you realise that the more barriers you conquer the better you get at facing rejection, dealing with disappointment and growing wiser in your truth.

When you comprehend that pushing through this moment of apparent hell breaking loose in your mind will open you up to the freedom you so desperately seek to be happy, oh boy! You will look for those blocks and release them. Instead of freezing you will practice being present to make it to the other side.

Past stories, past pain, past hurts, memories, mistakes, betrayal, insecurities, all the dark parts of you that usually are shoved down and hidden, will come floating in your face so you can deal with them from a conscious and aware state of mind.

Without recognising it you could be sabotaging your way to success by lingering in a safe place out of fear.

The worst thing about fear is that you manifest it in your body: hands shaking, sweat, hoarse voice, coughing, blushing, and finally freezing. You think because you feel it in your body it is real.

How you perceive the world is how you live in the world. If you have limiting beliefs around what’s possible for you and what you are capable of doing, if you have created barriers around your income, achievements, relationships, abilities, the safe part of your mind will do whatever it takes to keep you in that cozy state.

You can conquer this though. Focus on being aware that you are experiencing this when acting on a bold idea and practice this:

  • The old you must transform for the new you to bloom.
  • Start where you are.
  • Instead of acting from the space of who you have been, move as if you already are the person you dream of becoming.
  • Fall in love with your transformation and embrace it pushing forward with all the passion and vitality you can muster.
  • Feed that enthusiasm daily with consistent action. Even the smaller step counts.

Let’s say you have ‘decided’ to apply for a job that could help you evolve, you have ‘decided’ to move to a new apartment, you have ‘decided’ to invest in your personal growth, you will literally freak out because you are somewhere and the hanging wooden bridge you must cross to get where you want to go it’s over a rocky river filled with piranhas dancing and salivating looking at your ankles.

You can feel vertigo just by thinking about it. That is how it feels.

What can you do instead? Do some kind of energy clearing meditation, binge on a Netflix show, turn off your phone, go to sleep, just get your focus out of what you want for at least a night and make the decision that no matter what you will move forward as if the problem is already solved.

One of the best meditations I have found to help with energy clearing is Christie Marie Sheldon’s abundance blocks guided meditation.

I had my abundance blocks all around my throat and my belly, I could feel the burn in my stomach and the urge to vomit in my throat. My head was about to explode, the pains aching my body were like I had been driven over by a truck. So believe me when I tell you I have been there and the other side is freedom, that sigh of relief you exhale when you complete a very complicated exam, a project or a running goal.

You don’t need to know how things will happen, you can’t really really know how they will happen, you just need to feed your vision with the belief that it will happen because the fact that you have the desire is enough to know that it is done.

Learn to listen to your inner guidance. Sit down still, when things start spinning around you and you feel as if you are losing control, sit down and breath. This might sound contrary to what you have done all your life but it is the key to real freedom.

There is a Zen proverb that goes something like this: “If you don’t have time to meditate for an hour every day, you should meditate for two hours.”

I don’t leave the house before meditating, the only way you can face the world from a grounded, centred, self-empowered place is through having a consistent daily practice.

Your ego, your small self wants to control and react, you are bigger than that, you are the inner compass that moves the whole universe, it doesn’t matter what your beliefs are, there is a power within you that looks for expansion, for full expression, that looks for transformation and when you allow it…you can have anything you want.

Feel the fear and do it anyway.

Forgive yourself for feeling how you feel and thinking what you think.

Embrace fear as a sign that you are making a bold move to improve your life. Every time it shows up it doesn’t mean stop, it means you are growing!

Every time you hit a terror barrier remember your vision, you don’t grow your confidence by playing it safe.

See yourself already in the possession of whatever it is your heart desires and you will overcome any obstacle placed in your way!

Accept the situation you are in for what it is and ask yourself how would you move if you knew you were fully supported and everything you wanted was already in you.

How would you act if you had the money, the team, the support and the success you desire?

Things aren’t usually what they look like, take your focus out of the circumstances and see them for what they are. An illusion allowing you to grow and evolve. Don’t fight your environment, forgive yourself for resisting it and enter your inner state of flow.

Trust your actions, your insights and take bold inspired action.

What’s the worst thing that can happen if you don’t get what you set out to achieve? Who will be disappointed if you don’t make it happen? Would you be embarrassed? In front of who? Who are you trying so hard to please? Are you worried about what people will say if you fail?

What’s the worst-case scenario?

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
