Technological Inventions Related To Health

As time passes, technology surprises us more and more. Just look back a few years and analyze the inventions that have been developed and assimilated by the human being

Smart machines are possible thanks to technology, such as television, Internet, autonomous transport, and even the entire communications and information processing base that banking operations enable.

Besides, technology has allowed us to access knowledge and information in just one click and connect with our loved ones from a distance and, practically, from anywhere.

Today we are going to discuss a type of technology that has a great impact on the improvement of conditions and quality of life: the technology applied to health. We tell you about five recent inventions in this field.

Detect cancer early

A new company called Grail has been created to help detect the first symptoms of cancer, to be able to treat it more effectively. According to Grail, cancer identified early is five times more likely to be treated successfully. The company is looking for the possibility of creating the first universal device to identify this disease prematurely. The device would work by measuring the level of nucleic acids and collecting information about the DNA in the blood that circulates outside the red blood cells.

Food Scanner

Companies such as Scio and Tell spec have developed scanners to analyze food for its nutritional base through infrared, so that people know at all times, immediately, what they are eating. The prototype was introduced in 2014, but it was launched in 2016 and it seems that it will gain strength this 2017, which would revolutionize the gastronomic sector and the sanitary aspect of food.

3D Biological Printing of materials

The evolution that 3D printing is having and how it is adapting to different industries directly and efficiently is impressive. In healthcare, the invention of reproducing whole organs or human bodies for scientific tests is being explored, and thus gains inefficiency. The main pioneer of such innovation is Organovo.

An Instrument That Helps To Listen Better and Perceive A Possible Danger

An alert device has been developed that allows people with hearing problems to interpret dangerous situations that may be happening in their environment. The tool works through vibrations, which are produced by external noise. The notice makes it easy to react on time.

The Covered Robot That Helps People Who Suffer To Eat Alone

People who suffer from Parkinson’s or similar diseases now have the solution to eat autonomously, without the help of other people. The American company Lift ware has created a cover that contains sensors developed in such a way that they balance the movement of the hand, which favors that the food does not leave the cover and that the person can ingest the food more comfortably.

Typhus Vaccine

Recommended by the World Health Organization, a new vaccine manages to prevent 9 out of 10 cases of typhoid fever. This virus affects 22 million people every year, killing more than 200,000. With this vaccine, many lives could be saved, especially in less developed countries, which is where this disease is most prevalent.

Change the DNA

With genetic editing techniques, a group of scientists from the United States has successfully tried to modify the DNA of a patient with Hunter syndrome. With this method, it is possible to eliminate the genes that create this disease and, at the same time, open the door to curing other diseases.

Vaccine against Zika

Although this vaccine is still in the experimental phase, it has shown that 90% of the participants in the trial responded positively, so it is expected that it will soon be formalized as the first vaccine to prevent the spread of this virus.
