The COVID-19 pandemic outbreak has been an unpleasant experience for everyone. The ones who are affected by the virus need to undergo medical treatment and recover completely. However, there are chances of weakness even after the recovery! That doesn’t mean that people who did not get affected are not suffering. Today, people are undergoing massive mental turmoil because of the pandemic outbreak. The attempt to stay safe from the virus is making people palpable and anxious. And it has become all the more critical to ensure that you remain physically and mentally fit.

According to Eric Dalius, staying fit mentally and physically requires a conscious attempt and a commitment to the process. People need to implement specific guidelines for the same. Some of the easy tactics to follow are:

  1. Keep a physical fitness regime

Today, most people are working from home. And that makes people succumb to a sedentary lifestyle. If you don’t want a sedentary lifestyle to affect your mind and body, you need to follow a strict fitness regime. For this, you must commit to any form of physical exercise once a day. You can choose to walk or run. That aside, you can also choose to do yoga, Pilates, or aerobics. Ensure that you stay committed to this regime, which will help you boost your immunity.

Another way to harness physical strength and immunity is through dancing. You can either learn a new dance form or getting in touch with the old dance lessons. Today, online classes help you get the basic dance lessons for belly dance, salsa, or western contemporary. You can choose the form you like, get trained, and stay physically agile.

  • Take care of your emotional health

No one knows when the virus will perish and stop causing the mass havoc as it has been! Most nations are still awaiting a vaccine that will help to flatten the pandemic curve. This mass uncertainty is making people emotionally unstable and weak. According to Eric J Dalius, people must attend to their emotional core and resolve the underlying issues. One of the best ways to do that is through therapy. Today, you can get in touch with online counselors who can listen to your emotional issues and provide telephone-counseling.

However, many people feel slightly inhibited from speaking to a counselor. For them, it is better to confide in a friend or a family member. When you talk about your emotional issues, you address the same and take away the negative charge of emotions. That way, you develop a problem-solving attitude that helps you sort your feelings better. It helps you get clarity of thoughts and don’t get worried because of emotional issues. It is essential to address your threats related to the pandemic so that you can stay safe.

  • Maintain security protocols

Everyone needs to stay safe by following security protocols. For this, you need to make use of the masks and sanitizers. Make sure that you follow the social distancing measures as well. If you are ordering food and groceries online, you need to opt-in for the “no-touch” delivery system. That way, you can stay away from contracting the virus. Also, make sure not to visit any crowded places. Sanitize your home and office spaces well to ensure that zero bacteria can affect your health during this lockdown phase.

  • Take the necessary vitamins and health supplements

Boosting your immune system is the need of the hour! And for that, you need to opt-in for the health supplements and vitamins as well. One of the best options is to consume zinc supplements, which helps to strengthen the immune system. That aside, you can also take other vitamin capsules and make immunity booster shots using natural ingredients and herbs like ginger, mint, thyme, cinnamon, and rosemary. You can drink or consume it at a fixed time daily to ensure you are strong enough to combat any virus and bacterial infection.

  • Start writing a journal

It is necessary to keep your mind occupied with positive aspects of life. One of the ways you can feel good during this time is by writing a journal. It would help if you made it a daily habit, and it will instill you with positive emotions. When you write in your diary or journal, you can assess your feelings and thoughts. It helps you to stay in touch with yourself and understand your emotions better. That way, you can navigate your life better. It gives you emotional clarity and leads you to better decision making that brings you peace and happiness.

  • A new hobby

EJ Dalius says that you immerse yourself in a new activity, it helps you transmute all negative thoughts and bring positivity. If you feel emotionally unstable during this pandemic time, it’s time to opt-in for a new hobby. You can decide to opt-in for gardening, painting, or cooking. If you want, you can also bake your best dishes. Inculcating a new hobby helps you learn new ways of getting a task done, enabling you to focus on a unique skill set. It diverts the mind from fear towards faith and creativity. And that helps to bring in an emotional balance.

  • Read more books

Reading helps to alter the subconscious mind! The pandemic phase gets characterized by stress and tension. Reading light-hearted storybooks helps to divert the focus to a new world order that brings in elements of wonder and awe. It helps to restore the mind with thoughts of happiness, harmony, and balance. You can make it a point to read a book before you sleep and notice the difference.

The pandemic has brought about physical and mental imbalances because of the mass fear and paranoia. The thoughts about the pandemic cure will remain for a while. However, amidst that, you need to resort to the guidelines mentioned above to stay well physically and emotionally.
