As little girls we’re told we can be and do anything we want, but as women we are made to shrink in our existence–sometimes in our homes, but more so in the workplace and in society at large. Shrink for what? And to what end? Are we to shrink to appease someone else’s insecurities? Women are bright, resilient, and powerful human beings. We are making strides in many industries where only a few years back our presence was slim to none. We are mothers, breadwinners, executives, CEO’s of our own companies and mentors… just to name a few. Let it be known, our voices will be heard. We will not stand in the shadows of others. We will establish our place, take our seats and be appreciated for our intellect and all we have to offer the world. We demand equal wages and our place in careers like STEM where there is still a significant gender gap . Ladies, we are stronger together than apart so let’s continue to propagate self-love and self-awareness within our daughters, within ourselves and in other women–those who we know and those who we don’t know. We are enough. In fact, we are more than enough and the days of shrinking ourselves for others is over!
