If you have always wanted to try a purer and more concentrated mari-juana source, you should consider trying shatter or wax. Both shatter and wax have become increasingly popular variants, particularly where medical mari-juana is concentrated. Shatter and wax are both equipped with increasingly high concentrations of THC, which is ideal for anyone that is looking for an impactful high to allow proper management of pain, stress and other conditions. Shatter and wax share certain similarities including their concentration levels. Both shatter and wax are also convenient to use because they can be used discreetly.

How are shatter and wax produced?

The primary difference between shatter and wax lies in how the two are processed. Both shatter and wax are extracted concentrates, which means that they contain all the major oils in the cannabis plant that is responsible for producing psychedelic effects. mari-juana works is a lot similar to regular wax. That’s why both shatter and high offer users a drastic high that tends to last longer compared to when the plant is smoked solely.

Like most concentrates, wax is acquired from Butane Hash Oil. Wax has the consistency and texture of coconut oil. The extraction process that creates wax utilizes less heat compared to the process that produces shatter. When less heat is used, the concentrate mixes a lot more aggressively.

Shatte, on the other hand, contains particles that are held together tightly in a uniform fashion. Not only does this require more heat to produce, but it also needs more precision. Because the molecules in shatter are more tightly packed, the end product that is produced tends to be purer than wax.

The differences

While both shatter and wax offer a higher concentration compared to other cannabis alternatives, they both have a different appearance and texture. Wax typically has an opaque appearance and soft consistency that is very easy to deal with. Wax almost has a texture that can be likened to butter or oil. After processing, the final product contains a yellow-brownish color that appears like ear wax.

Shatter, on the other hand, has a tougher consistency compared to wax. When processed, it looks like a chunk of hardened sugar or rock candy. Shatter is also transparent and not thick like wax owing to the tightly held molecules that easily transmit light.

Which is better

Your choice, between shatter or wax, should be based on your preference as well as the results that you are looking for. Shatter is harder to use but has a longer shelf life compared to wax. Shatter is also stronger and releases a weaker aroma while the case is completely different for wax. Both can be used for dabbing and offer the same health benefits.
